Meet Jared

Jared first had is hands on the controls of an airplane in 1993 while not yet graduating middle school. Needless to say, the seed was planted and the adventure continues today.

Jared attended Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, AZ, graduating in April of 2001. It was at ERAU that Jared realized a passion for helping others reach their aviation goals. From graduation through 2014 Jared helped ERAU students succeed through his roles as a Flight Instructor, Check Instructor, Chief Instructor, and Head Coach of the NIFA National Champion Golden Eagles Flight Team.

Since 2014 Jared has been actively flying as an aerial firefighter supporting wildland firefighting efforts on the ground across the country. Jared has also actively served as a volunteer member of the NIFA Council and as a volunteer judge at NIFA competitions, keeping a close connection with the collegiate aviation training community.

In 2019, Jared assisted in establishing a Part 142 Training Center which conducts training in two different types of aircraft, both supporting wildland firefighting efforts. Jared serves as an Instructor and Training Center Evaluator to this day.

In his off time, Jared enjoys spending time with his family, skiing as many days as he can get, and flying his 1953 Cessna 170.
